On
the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijja, starts the three-day festival known as
'Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice). Eid ul Adha is is
celebrated by Muslims around the world with prayer, and the sacrifice of
animals. Eid ul Adha commemorates the story of the would be sacrifice of
Prophet Ismaeel (alyahi salaam) by his father, Prophet Ibrahim (Abrahim)
alayhi salam.
